The answer to this question better not be... NONE
"2023 is off to such a busy start! My calendar is jam-packed."
"I'm not sure what I did over the holidays could be considered "rest."
"Why do I feel like I'm already behind?"
I've been hearing this from so many of the women I've talked to recently.
Does this sound like you too?
If so, know that you're not alone. Last week, I asked a group of spectacular executive women leaders if they had made any plans for fun or rest for 2023 and they just stared at me with blank looks on their faces. It hurt my heart.
Did they have plans for traveling for big work meetings for the year? Yep.
Did they have plans for the kids' spring break? Yep.
Did they have plans for visiting family? Yep.
Plans for themselves, for fun or for rest? NOPE.
Friends, this has got to stop. We simply must take better care of ourselves and make time for fun, rest, food, love... whatever lights you up. It has to start now.
The time is never going to magically appear on your calendar. You need to make it a priority -- just like you do for everyone else.
Grab a group of girlfriends and do a staycation at a fancy hotel in the city, run away to a cabin in the woods by yourself, plan a trip to the beach for you and your partner...whatever it is that lights you up get it on the calendar!
I know it's not easy to do. I know you have a thousand excuses.
I know you might already too tired to think about it.
That was me too. Until that ONE time I said "Enough!" and just booked a retreat. That retreat changed my life.
It's your turn.
